Named Entity List

HOUSE 13 entities are few, and each one owns a system. You do not need a hundred-row bestiary. You need to remember four interactions: the knock, the window, the dark, and the closet. This page expands the threat ranking with badge text, tell signs, and the guide to open next. It is written for survivors who already spawned; if you have not, start with getting started.

Impostors (door visitors)

Impostors are the emergency. The game description is the mechanic: they take the shape of people, wear their clothes, imitate their voices, and ask to be let in. The HUD is two buttons, Let In and Close Door. There is no third “scan” key on the official door panel. Your scan is your eyes and the questions the night gives you. Details live in identify Impostors and how to play.

Not every visitor is an Impostor. The broadcast also tells you to help fleeing strangers. That tension is the game. Close Door on everyone and you may fail a help beat. Let In on everyone and you will not see morning. Easy mode’s badge says you locked the door and waited — verification is still required, isolation is not a skip.

The Reacher

Badge: “The window can be shut right up until it climbs through.” Gallery art shows a dark, long-limbed body folding over a sill with a pale face. The Reacher is a deadline on every open window. You do not fight it in a boss bar. You shut glass on time. If you see it mid-climb, you are already in the late window. Guide: The Reacher.

Win rate on the Reacher badge sits well below the join badge, which matches how many players tunnel the door and forget the pane behind them. In co-op, the window caller should never be the same person as the door caller.

The Hitcher

Badge: “It settles on you in the dark. Get back into a lit room before your time in darkness runs out.” Gallery shots of a figure on the ceiling and a body crawling the stair void are the travel language: the Hitcher uses unlit volume. Light is a resource. Sprint is not a substitute. If you cut through a black stair to save two seconds, you may spend the Hitcher timer instead. Guide: The Hitcher.

The Hitcher badge is rare compared with Easy Mode’s freebie. That is not because the entity is secret. It is because people do not respect darkness until Medium’s twelve nights punish the habit.

The Nester

Badge: “Close the closet while it’s inside. Once it claims a room, stay out of that room or rapidly flash your light at it.” Gallery art is the wardrobe with a clawed, lamp-eyed figure leaning out. The Nester is the only named threat with a two-stage counter: trap it, then exile the room or strobe it. Players fail the first stage by leaving closets ajar, then fail the second by hiding in the claimed bedroom when the knock comes. Guide: The Nester.

Flashing the light is not the same as standing in a lit hall for the Hitcher. One is a strobe at a claimed Nester. The other is remaining in illumination so a darkness timer never starts. Do not mix the two rules under stress.

Broadcast and mode badges (not monsters)

The join badge, Easy / Medium / Hard starts, and the survive badges are progress flags, not extra creatures. “Located” (“You were never hidden. You were only difficult to find.”) reads like a fail or discovery state — treat it as a reminder that the house is known to them, not as a fifth huntable. See modes for night counts.

Entity priority in one sentence each

  • Impostor: decide at the door, never from the hallway rumor.
  • Reacher: close windows before you argue about the visitor.
  • Hitcher: do not enter dark space without a lit destination.
  • Nester: shut closets; abandon claimed rooms.

Use the verification checklist as the entity loop. Use controls so flash and interact are not the same misclick. HOUSE 13 will add more silhouettes later; until the updates hub says so, these four are the whole exam.
