How to Play HOUSE 13
The door panel, the night loop, and the decisions that actually score a morning.
How to play HOUSE 13 is a door game wearing a house. Dread Forge built a Roblox survival loop around two buttons and three environmental threats. If you came from tycoons, there is no dropper. If you came from Terminal 13, there is no passport scanner. There is a person on the porch and a house that wants you distracted. This page is the core loop. For spawn and Easy setup, use getting started. For tells, use identify Impostors.
The only official door verbs
The official gallery shows a wall plate with LET IN on a green button and CLOSE DOOR on a red button, with a visitor in the frame. That is the whole door API. You look, you choose, you live with it. There is no “maybe later” hold that pauses the night. There is no Codes field on that plate. Redeeming, if it ever exists, lives in a different menu — see how to redeem.
Let In is for a verified person. The broadcast still wants you to help fleeing strangers. A correct Let In is the human half of the fantasy. A wrong Let In is an Impostor inside the hull. Once they are in, you are not playing a check anymore. You are playing a loss.
Close Door is the default when you are unsure. It is not grief. It is the Easy badge’s “locked your door and waited” energy. You can still fail a night by closing on everyone if the mode wanted you to admit someone — but that failure is rarer than the wipe from a generous green. When in doubt, red.
Play between knocks
The door is not the whole night. After a decision, you immediately run windows, lights, and closets. Survive the night is the order. How to play is the reminder that the HUD will try to make you stare at the porch while The Reacher uses a side pane. In a 32-player server, only one person should be on the plate. Everyone else is on house duty. That is co-op, not a suggestion.
What “playing well” looks like
- You face the visitor long enough to see clothes and mouth, not so long that a window timer dies.
- You do not open the menu, the scripts injector, or Roblox chat overlays on top of green/red.
- You do not Let In because the server is yelling “it’s a NPC bro.”
- You do not Close Door and then stand in the dark celebrating. The Hitcher still counts darkness.
- You do not hide in a bedroom you have not closet-checked. The Nester claims rooms.
Modes are the same verbs
Easy, Medium, and Hard do not add a fourth button. They add nights: 6 / 12 / 18. Playing well on Hard is playing well on Easy for three times as long. Rank them on modes. If you cannot explain Let In versus Close Door in one sentence, you are not ready to queue Hard.
The video in the middle of this page is a full HOUSE 13 walkthrough with an ending, recorded in this universe, not a Terminal 13 upload. Use it to see the door plate in motion, then close it and play. One embed per guide is the rule.
Failure states that are still “playing”
Dying is information. If you died at the door, your identification is weak. If you died after a perfect Close Door, you played the plate and failed the house. The threat ranking exists so you log the real letter. Playing HOUSE 13 well is less about never dying and more about not dying twice the same way.
HOUSE 13 is released and online. There is no offline practice range. Easy is the range. Play it until the two buttons feel boring. Then the rest of the wiki is refinement, not a new genre.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common HOUSE 13 questions.

Green is Let In. Red is Close Door. That is the official door HUD.
Is there a scan or question minigame?
Not on the door plate. You verify by looking and listening. See identify Impostors.
Should I always Close Door?
When unsure, yes. The game still wants you to help real strangers when you can tell.
Does how to play change on Hard?
No. Hard is more nights. See modes.
