Play HOUSE 13 with Friends
Assign the plate, the glass, the lamps, and the closets before night one.
HOUSE 13 co-op is online, up to 32 players in a Roblox server. There is no local split-screen. If you cannot hear each other, you do not have co-op — you have a crowd. This page is the role split that makes Medium’s twelve nights possible. Solo players should still read it so they know which job they are dropping when they panic.
Before you queue
Pick Easy until the stack can say Let In versus Close Door without arguing. Join the same server from a group chat, not from a public hop if you can avoid it. Favorite the experience so everyone lands in HOUSE 13 and not a clone. Join Dread Forge together if you want studio news in one place.
Agree on red-wins. If two people disagree at the plate, Close Door. That rule prevents the classic wipe: one player “being nice.” Read identify Impostors in the lobby, not during a knock.
The four jobs
Door (1 person). Stands at the plate. Calls “visitor” and the decision. Nobody else touches green. If a random mashes Let In, ask them to leave or you leave. The door is S-tier on the threat ranking.
Glass (1–N). Owns windows for The Reacher. Split wings: front, back, upstairs. Call “glass clear” after each knock. Do not drift to the porch to spectate.
Light (1). Owns lamps and the lit path for The Hitcher. Stops people taking black stairs. Turns candles back on after screenshot kids.
Closet (1). Owns wardrobes for The Nester. Calls claimed rooms by name. Stops teammates hiding in a claimed bedroom.
On a four-stack, that is one job each. On a 32-player public, you still need those four names or the extra twenty-eight people are porch decoration.
Callouts that fit a knock
Keep calls short:
- “Visitor, holding.”
- “Red.” / “Green, clothes match.”
- “Reacher, back dining.”
- “Stair dark, take hall.”
- “Master claimed, no hide.”
No essays. The night loop is already four steps. Callouts should map to those steps.
Public server survival
If you must play public:
- Do Easy only.
- Mute boomboxes.
- Ignore script links. See script safety.
- Leave at the first grief Let In. Your six-night streak is worth more than teaching strangers.
Hard’s eighteen nights plus public is how Survived Hard stays near zero. Do not farm a rare badge in a circus.
Voice versus chat
Voice is better. Chat is slow and sits on the HUD. If you only have chat, the door person types nothing during a visitor — they click. Glass types after the decision. Do not stack chat over Close Door. That is a controls issue.
After a co-op wipe
Name the job that failed, not the person. “Glass missed upstairs” is useful. “You suck” is not. Then run Easy once as a reset. Co-op is a multiplier on good loops and on bad ones. The verification checklist is the shared card. Put it in the Discord pin. HOUSE 13 is released. Your friends can play tonight. Assign jobs before the broadcast ends.
Two-stack and three-stack variants
Two players: door + glass. Light and closet are extra walks for whoever is free after their primary call. Do not both stand at the plate. Three players: add a dedicated closet or light, whichever killed you last night. Four is the complete card. More than four should duplicate glass wings, not duplicate door.
If someone is new, they get closet duty first. Wardrobes are local and the Nester guide is short. Do not put a first-timer on Let In during Medium. Identification is S-tier. Train it on Easy with the identify page open in the lobby, then promote them to door.
When co-op is worse than solo
If your friends spam jump on the porch, you will misclick. If they open windows for clips, The Reacher will clip you. If they turn lights off, The Hitcher will sit on you. Solo Easy is cleaner than chaotic Medium. Leave without a speech. Requeue with people who want the checklist. Co-op is a tool, not an obligation. The game is still online even when you play as a party of one inside a 32-player server — you just treat everyone else as furniture until they prove otherwise.
